A weekend of celebration!

Hello my lovelies!
 How are you all doing?
This week has been a very long week, but it has also been amazing. On Thursday I passed my teaching qualification with an 'outstanding' grade, the highest you can get! I was so pleased with this result, because it means that all of the hard work has paid off.
I am also very lucky because my boyfriend planned a whole day of celebrations to show me just how proud he is of me! I thought I would share with you what we got up to (and so this acts like a little diary for me too!).

First of all, Ross came home from work with a gorgeous floral arrangement of roses. There were red ones, orange ones and yellow ones - they look so summery! He then handed me a card from his grandparents, and in that was a gift card for afternoon tea at a local garden centre. Such a lovely idea!

After this Ross told me that we were going for a picnic at a local National Trust place called Emmetts Garden. He had bought a super cute picnic basket for us to take with us, but unfortunately it didn't arrive until after we came back from the picnic. Oh well, it's just another excuse for a picnic - yay! Anyway, Ross picked up loads of my favourite picnic food and then we headed off to Emmetts Garden.

This place is absolutely beautiful. There was a massive field with picnic benches as soon as we came in, so we sat down and are our food. People were flying their planes over our head, and there was a family playing cricket together and laughing with each other, it was lovely. After we had finished our lunch we went for a walk around the rest of the gardens. There was a rock garden that featured a well decorated pond, and a rose garden that smelt and looked divine. We also bumped into a cat while we were there - I swear that they can sense me! (Crazy cat lady perks).

We continued to walk and take in the sights, then we came across a teepee in the distance. We went in and found out it was a fancy dress tent for kids, but we dressed up anyway! It would be rude not to. Haha. Once we had finished mucking about we went into the cafe for some cake (Victoria sponge cake and chocolate fudge cake - yum!) and then we made our way back home.
We then relaxed a bit in the afternoon, catching up on Modern Family (the series we are obsessed with at the moment) and had a chat about our week. The surprises weren't finished though, Ross then took me away to Bluewater to go for dinner. I have wanted to try Carluccio's for a while now, and that is the closest one so he decided to take me there for dinner. We had cheesy garlic bread, these really tasty rice balls that were filled with cheese, and homemade spaghetti and meatballs. It was delicious! (I am starting to realise how much today has revolved around food - whoops!)

For the final part of the day we went back home, cracked open a bottle of prosecco and just enjoyed each other's company. Today has been one of the best days I have had in a very long time, and I am so grateful for this display of affection and pride.

All in all, it's been a whirlwind year. It isn't finished yet, but the hard bit is definitely over!
