Day in the life #7: NYE

Hello my lovelies!

Happy New Year to each and every one of you. I hope it brings you happiness and everything that you wish for. I was lucky enough to spend this NYE with my best friends from uni in one of their uni houses. Last year I spent the majority of it by myself so this years was loads better! We didn't want a massive party this year so there was around 10 of us and we just played games, sang songs, chatted and saw the New Year in together.

We had loads of food and champagne. What more could a girl want? It was all delicious. I made cookies and I will be sharing the recipe for those soon! My friend Cesca brought some board games with her which I was so happy about. Board games are a dying art and I think they are so much fun. We played articulate mainly which got really intense near the end. Me and my partner came 2nd by 1 point so we didn't do too badly! We also had loads of games using the app Heads Up which was hilarious.
Once we all had a bit more alcohol in us we got to thinking about nice NYE things we could write. We ended up doing three things which all made us a bit emotional! The first was that we each wrote our best and worst memories from 2014 and put them in a pot anonymously. We then read them all out just before midnight, the bad memories we left behind and the good ones we remembered which made us happy for the New Year. We then wrote each person's name on a piece of paper and passed it round the circle. Each person had to write where they thought that person would be in 10 years time - these were all really sweet! The last game was that we went around the circle and said our wishes for the other people in 2015 and what we loved about each other. This made quite a few people cry (including me) - happy tears of course!

It then hit midnight and we all let off our party poppers and had a kiss with each other. It was so nice to see in the new year with these lovely people. This was honestly the best new year's I have ever had. I was smiling from start to finish and couldn't have wished for better friends.

What did you do for NYE?
