Hopes and goals for 2014...

Hello my lovelies!

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a really great NYE celebration and aren't feeling too fragile this morning. I am not going to sugar coat this post as 'resolutions' because I am really not a big believer in the 'New Year, New Me' mantra, although I do respect those that actually stick to their resolutions - well done to all of you! The things I am going to be talking about are things I want to achieve in 2014 that I feel are realistic, I have also thrown in some more enjoyable things too. I need some more great memories in 2014!

So the first one is to experiment more with hairstyles. At the moment I have middle length hair with a full fringe, all I do is straighten it and leave it down. Yawn! Whenever I have tried new hairstyles in the past they haven't looked right, and I think this is through lack of technique. So this year I will make sure to watch some tutorial videos and try to perfect things such as a fish tail plait, or messy waves. If any of you have tutorials you want to recommend then please leave a comment and a link :)

Number two is to read more! I absolutely adore reading, but because of all the uni work I have had this year it has become near enough impossible. The books in the picture are just a few that I want to read and I have let slip through the net. I actually own the majority of these books - I just need to find time. Even if it is for an hour at night, I will try and get these read. Any books from 2013 that you would recommend me reading?

Number three is to treat my skin with more care. I am SO lazy when it comes to my skin, I just used moisturiser and toner and don't do much else. So I have promised myself that this year that will change and hopefully so will my complexion.

Number four is to go and see more musicals. Now I am a MASSIVE musical fan - I can't think of a better day out then going to London and watching a musical and having a sing-song. Luckily I live close to London so this isn't an issue, but pricing is! I really want to go and see Matilda and The Book of Mormon this year so I have promised myself I will save a bit of money to blow off some steam and have a nice time. After all, everyone needs a break sometimes!

Number five is to stop biting my nails. Now this probably sounds strange from a person who has written blog posts on nail varnish, but it is a habit I have just never been able to break. But I am determined! I have stopped for 5 days so far (doesn't sound like long but I am proud). I feel like I have missed out on girly things such as going to have my nails done because I have always felt embarrassed of mine. So, hopefully soon you will be seeing some nice nail pics!

Fujifilm Finepix SL300 Was £249 now £129 on Amazon
Number six is probably the one I want to achieve the most and that is to continue my photography. I am lucky enough to have the gorgeous camera pictured above, the Fujifilm Finepix SL300. I used to take photos all the time but that has slipped a lot in the past year, which I am not happy about! Even if I use this to take photos for my blog, it will be better than not using the camera at all :)

Number seven is to hit 200 followers on my blog by around summer time. I am new to the blogging world but I love it so much already. Everyone is SO friendly and kind and it makes me even more inspired to write. If I got 200 followers it would make me unbelievably thrilled and make me feel proud.

Number eight is my final goal and that is to stop stressing. Anyone that knows me knows I love to stress about things. Small or big. I want to stop that this year because it makes me over think too much and causes me unnecessary worry. I want 2014 to be filled with happiness and good times, not stress. I must keep to this one.

What are your goals and aspirations for 2014? It would be great to hear them.

Speak soon! xx
