The Educational Blues...

Hey my lovelies!

I kind of promised myself that I wouldn't get too emotional on here but I am breaking that today because I want to pass on some stuff. So, being at uni is tough - especially feedback on work. Today I didn't do too well on some coursework and it is really upsetting. It disheartens you and makes you question a lot of things that you have worked hard for. Everything is a bit more dramatic then it probably should be but I guess that happens when you are sad and a bit delirious. Luckily though I have some great friends to put some things into perspective, which I am gonna put here so if anyone feels the same as me, it might help you too...

1. Try and look at the bigger picture. I know it seems like a big deal now but it will seem miniscule in a few weeks time when you have new things to focus on. Education wise GCSE's were massive, they then seemed nothing compared to A levels and then A levels seemed like nothing compared to the degree. Everything changes and moves on, this is just a small chapter of your life at the moment. Don't take it too hard!
2. Don't beat yourself up about it. As long as you know in yourself that you have worked the hardest that you can, then it is in the past and there is nothing you can do about it.
3. Brush it off and move on. Take your emotions and how you are feeling as a learning curve, put in that extra bit of something (effort, emotion, analysis) into your next piece of work so you don't feel that way again.
4. This might not apply to everyone but coursework is only a tiny part of your degree. There is always the exam to help boost up your grades and at the end of the day it is just one module.
5. Try to focus on your positives. While this might be a momentary negative there are always positives. If you have worked hard then that is one straight away. If you are determined that is another. Always try to find the best in a bad situation.

Sorry if this post is a bit all over the place - I guess I just find this a bit therapeutic to get out all my thoughts and give a shout out to the great advice that a few of my friends have given me. So basically the moral is don't give up and don't let it knock your determination. Use this as a pep talk if you ever feel down, or drop me a message if you need to talk.

Speak soon xx
